THE MARCH EMPTIES

Manhattan Endless Stay Make-Up in "IVORY 60"
I got this last summer and even back then the colour was a little to dark for me. I usually mixed it with another, lighter foundation. I really love the coverage of this, but I wouldn't buy this colour again. I just had a quick look at the Manhattan website and it seems like they've introduced a wider range of colours. I might give a lighter shade a try. I wish they'd sell it in different packaging though, as you can't get all the product out of the tube. I prefer the packaging of the Easy Match Make Up by far.

Rimmel London Hide the Blemish Concealer in "IVORY 001"
I'm super gutted as Rimmel London doesn't seem to sell in Germany anymore. It's one of my favourite make up brands, I've always loved their nail polishes. I got this concealer almost exactly a year ago when I went to London for a concert of Girls Aloud's farewell tour after seeing many people liking it a lot. I have to say that it indeed is a lovely product and I loved using it to get rid of my undereye circles. I didn't like it as much to cover spots as it doesn't provide heavy coverage. I'll be picking it up again when I'm in the UK in May as it's lovely to use on "good skin days".

Neutrogena Handcream (Non Parfumée)
I have pretty dry hands and sensitive skin which is not the best combination ever. I struggle to find handcream that a) provides enough moisture for my skin and b) doesn't make my skin itchy. This cream is by far the best cream I have found up to this point! It's very moisturising and not too sticky - two thumbs up from me for that!

Nivea Aqua Effect Nightcream
My face hates 99 % of creams I've ever tried. It either breaks out, gets super dry or even better a combination of both. Awesome. The nightcream by Nivea is a nice change from that. It provides a lot of moisture and feels lovely on the skin.

Make Up Factory Fixing Powder in "Translucent"
Hands down the best powder. Ever. I stumbled across this one randomly in a German drugstore. It's magical. It doesn't look cakey, it keeps your make up from getting shiny - just lovely. It's a little hard to get as it's only sold by a few stores, but I'm sure I'll keep hunting it down for years and years to come.

Do you have recommendations re: make up for someone who's pale as Caspar, the little ghost? I love trying new make up!

THE HOLIDAY PLANNING

0 Kommentare

I've been trying to plan my next holiday throughout the past few days. I'm going to travel to Edinburgh, Glasgow and London with my sister. We're both very excited, especially as we've never been to Scotland! I've been to London about six times, my sister has visited London about three times, I believe. We're both in love with London and the UK in general, so I'm sure we're going to love it. Our little trip takes place during the beginning of May and I've just realized now that I've got to plan quite a few things like getting train tickets from Edinburgh to London, setting up an insurance and getting a few travel essentials. I've also been noting down make up that I want to pick up. There are quite a few brands that aren't available in Germany, so my shopping list usually ends up being super, super long. Watching beauty videos on YouTube and reading beauty blogs certainly doesn't help with keeping the list short. ;)

What are your favourite places to visit?

THE IKEA HAUL

I had a little stroll around IKEA on Saturday. I didn't plan to head to IKEA, it was a spontaneous decision after seeing one of their advertisements. I was over IKEA back in December after having to go there what seemed like a million times as I had to get essentials for my flat, but I've overcome that an enjoyed having a little browse around.

As you can see I've only picked up a few bits and bobs, mainly because I'm currently saving money for a trip to Edinburgh and London in May but also because I don't have a car and didn't feel like dragging any big parcels with me on the Berlin underground.

The first item I picked up was the little kitchen container from the "365+" line. I already got two of those and needed another one for flour. The "Skurar" candle holder immediately caught my eye. Probably every blogger ever owns something from that line, haha. I've been thinking of buying the pot for plants for ages but decided to not get it as I murder pretty much every plant I get my hands on. The candle holder seemed like the perfect solution. Whilst browsing the candle section - my favourite in all of IKEA - I also grabbed those XXL "Hylta" matches. You can never have too much of those, can you? I've been a lover of IKEA's "Tindra" candles for absolute ages, IKEA however seems to be shiftingto  new candle lines. The glasses the come in are a bit different and they added new scents, too. I ended up getting the "Sinnlig" candles in green (apple scent) and orange (orange scent - duh). Additionally I got the blue "Samvaro" candle which is supposed to smell like the beach/sea. It smells like neither to me but in a good way, haha! Whilst checking out I grabbed some "Alkalisk" batteries because I like having enough of those around.

What are your favourite things to pick up from IKEA?

THE INTRO

Hello there!

I'm Anja. I've been reading blogs for years and years now and have decided to give it a try myself. It's going to be far from perfect, but I think that makes it even more fun.

I've recently finished university with a Bachelor of Arts and have moved to Berlin. Come along as I explore my new city, decorate my flat and travel the world.
